Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) is the unit in which air conditioning is measured. In the world of cooling, the higher the SEER, the better the efficiency, and the lower your power bills will be. While most homes built in the last 10 years have 8 to 10 SEER air conditioners, Tappan has raised the bar to 24.5 SEER, the highest efficiency level in an air conditioner, and 22 SEER, the highest efficiency level in an air-source heat pump. It stands to reason that these systems will cost more up front, but over the lifetime of your initial investment, they'll provide unparalleled comfort, quiet operation, and significant improvements in indoor air quality.

iQ Drive is the brains behind the Tappan Ultra-Efficient Comfort System. It utilizes inverter rotary technology to achieve the highest efficiency level available today. Traditional compressors just turn on and off – operating at 60 hertz when running. But iQ Drive inverter technology has almost infinite modulation for a perfectly even variance. It runs as low as 15 hertz, so it uses less power. |
While today’s compressors kick on at full speed to compensate for a small change in temperature, iQ Drive inverter technology alters the compressor speed just enough to match the slightest change in air temperature. In addition to minimal power utilization, you get a more consistent temperature level – and fewer hot and cold spots – at all times.
Likewise, they'll pay back dividends providing energy savings worth hundreds of dollars per year along with reduced maintenance costs.

The Tappan iQ Drive System is not just efficient, it also delivers the lowest sound levels in the industry. Today’s traditional compressors operate at 3,600 rpm power. So even with sound- reduction features, they make enough noise to be heard inside the home. In comparison, the Tappan iQ Drive rotary compressor can ramp down to 900 rpm for ultra-low power efficiency and an ultra-low noise level. That makes for a quieter home, especially at night. |

Dehumidification Mode – Selectable dehumidification level – 35%
to 70%. This setting quickly zaps moisture from the air and regulates the most consistent humidity levels throughout the home.
Complete System Monitoring – On-board diagnostics and service settings for operational system commands and service notifications. Includes screen messages for error codes, filter cleaning or change notifications and other service reminders. Shows component performance for motors, refrigerant level, and inverter output and temperature.
Programmable Comfort Schedules – This feature gives you the ability to program a perfect comfort schedule to control specific functions at precise times of the day. Up to 7 Day program capabilities with multiple setback periods available.
Tappan's iQ Drive System – is available in two whole-home configurations. The iQ Drive Air Conditioner or Heat Pump/Air Handler system is designed for regions that utilize the cooling system almost year-round. The iQ Drive Air Conditioner or Heat Pump and Furnace-Coil System is designed for regions that utilize gas heat during the winter months. A Heat Pump/Furnace combo provides two full sources for heat and can save you hundreds of dollars a year versus an air conditioner with a furnace.
